Mojang Studios released the Minecraft 1.21 update on June 13, 2024. The patch brought several new features like trial chambers, breeze mob, ominous trials, the mace, and more. The update also introduced three new and unique enchantments to help players strengthen their mace — Density, Breach, and Wind Burst.

Speaking of powerups, Minecraft has overpowered ones. With that in mind, here is a list of the top five overpowered enhancements to use in the game.

5) Efficiency

One brilliant enchantment players can use on their tools is efficiency. This enchantment essentially reduces the time it takes to mine a block, increasing your overall mining speed. When the tools are at their strongest (with the enhancement equipped), they can quickly break through hundreds of blocks, which will cause them to become a little overpowered.

Furthermore, if this enchantment is paired with haste two, a status effect that players get from beacons, they will be able to break a block in a split second.

4) Density

The Minecraft 1.21 update recently brought a new enchantment called Density, which is exclusive to the mace. One unique aspect of the weapon is that it increases attack damage in proportion to the player's dropping height. This implies that if gamers land a shot while falling, they can deal a lot of damage to any entity.

This enchantment simply makes the mace significantly stronger over short distances by increasing the damage per fallen block. Each of its five levels increases the damage power by 0.5 health points for every block that the player falls.

This enchantment is mutually exclusive with breach, smite, and bane of arthropods.

3) Sharpness

Arguably, the most often used weapon in Minecraft is the sword. Though better swords can be crafted by using stronger materials like diamonds and netherite, players can also use sharpness to make them even stronger. All it does is increase the weapon's attack damage. However, at the maximum enchantment level, it can make a sword overpowered.

In Java Edition, this powerup can also be paired with a sweeping edge, making a sword even more powerful. It is mutually exclusive with smite, cleaving, and bane of arthropods.

2) Infinity

In Minecraft, gamers will frequently run out of arrows when using bows and arrows to take out enemies from a distance. Hence, they can apply the infinity enchantment on these weapons to avoid crafting more projectiles.

As long as the player has one arrow in their inventory, they can practically shoot an endless number of arrows. This way, players can keep blasting away at enemies with no hesitation, making this an incredibly powerful enchantment. This powerup doesn't work with mending.

1) Mending

One of the most desired and powerful enchantments in Minecraft is mending. It is a rare treasure powerup that can be obtained from a master-level librarian villager. This enchantment can also be obtained as chest loot from jungle temples, strongholds, ancient cities, and even while fishing.

It is worth mentioning that Mojang Studios could soon officially bring a Villager Trade Rebalance feature, which could make mending powerup much rarer. If that feature is applied, this enchantment will only be obtainable through a master-level swamp librarian.

Coming to mending's use, whichever tool it is applied to will automatically repair itself with the help of XP orbs that players pick. Therefore, in-game, this enchantment effectively makes a gear unbreakable.

It is mutually exclusive with infinity.
