Minecraft has all kinds of unique sounds when players explore different locations. When they enter a cave, they will start hearing all kinds of spooky sounds either from hostile mobs or general ambience. When in the Nether, the ghast cries and snorts from piglins can be equally daunting and creepy. However, these sounds are quite raw without any special effects.

Hence, some modders from the community created a mod called "Sound Physics" that drastically enhances the game's soundscape.

Sound Physics was originally created by popular modder Sonic Ether. While the mod is still available to download from GitHub, it wasn't updated for the latest game versions. Hence, other modders forked it for other modding APIs and newer game versions, which gave birth to the Sound Physics Remastered version. This is present on most popular mod websites. The mod was forked by henkelmax.

In terms of features, this is a pretty basic but game-changing mod. It adds various sound effects like attenuations, reverberations, and even absorption through blocks to all sounds in Minecraft.

The type of effect depends on the player's location. For example, if players are in a cave or the Nether, they will hear all sounds with a massive reverb. Hence, even the smallest squeak from a bat will be heard loudly and from a distance as an echo. Furthermore, sounds will have less reverb if wool blocks are placed in an area.
