A number of unimplemented Minecraft mobs have lost in Mojang's Mob Vote over the years. Previously, these votes allowed players to choose the next mob to be added to the game. Over the past 15 years, the title has introduced over 80 different mobs, some of which have become iconic. However, several worthy candidates have yet to be included.

This article lists five unimplemented Minecraft mobs that Mojang should consider adding to the game in the future.

Note: This list is solely based on the writer's opinions and is in no particular order.

Glare and other unimplemented Minecraft mobs that need to be added to the game in the future

1) Glare

The glare is one of the most popular mobs that was up for voting during Minecraft Live 2021, alongside the allay and the copper golem. According to Mojang's design, it would have flown to dark areas where hostile mobs could spawn and, upon detecting any entities, would become grumpy and alert players.

This feature would have essentially made the glare a canary bird for detecting hostile mobs, making it an ideal companion when exploring dark caves or the newly introduced Pale Garden biome.

The penguin was an adorable mob that was pitched in the Mob Vote during Minecraft Live 2023, alongside the armadillo and the crab.

According to its description, the penguin was supposed to spawn on stony shores and would have an amphibious lifestyle. Additionally, it was designed to be a clumsy walker but a brilliant swimmer and would have given players the status effect to increase the speed of their boat on water.

The ability to boost travel speeds makes the penguin one of the best unimplemented Minecraft mobs that need to be added to the game.

3) Rascal

The ability to receive items and rare loot makes the Rascal one of the coolest unimplemented Minecraft mobs (Image via YouTube/Mojang Studios)

The rascal was a proposed mob featured in the Mob Vote as part of Minecraft Live 2022, alongside the sniffer and the tuff golem. According to its teaser, the mob would reside underground in areas below y=0. It would give players hints to look for it and reward them with rare items if they found the mob three times.

The rascal would have been the perfect way to expand the barren list of underground mobs since most of the overworld mobs are usually found below, making it repetitive. Additionally, its ability to get rare and precious items makes it one of the best unimplemented Minecraft mobs that should be added to the game.

The crab was yet another proposed mob featured in the Mob Vote during Minecraft Live 2023, alongside the penguin and armadillo mob. It would have spawned in mangrove swamps and could be bred with kelp. However, as it grew, it would have dropped a large crab claw, which could be used to place blocks further away. The crab would also wave to players and other crabs.

The ability to place blocks further away could be a game changer for builders, especially for structures such as villager or resin farms, making the crab one of the coolest unimplemented Minecraft mobs that should be added to the game.

5) Vulture

The vulture was one of the coolest aerial mobs proposed during the Mob Vote at Minecon Live 2019, alongside the frog and the goat. It was a bird mob that would have spawned in the badlands and marked the place where a player had died by circling over their drops.

The vulture would have been one of the easiest ways for players to locate their lost loot rather than stumbling around the world and accidentally chancing upon it. Additionally, it would have been a great addition to the list of birds in Minecraft.
