Creaking is a new mob recently revealed by Mojang for Minecraft's next-to-next update or game drop. This new creature was another hostile mob with a special mechanic that no other mob in the game has so far. Thanks to its special abilities, it can be compared to another unique and extremely powerful mob, the Warden.

Here's how both scary beasts in Minecraft fair against each other, especially in terms of their mechanics and strengths.

Back when the Warden was released by Mojang, it quickly became one of the most interesting mobs, particularly because it was the first blind mob. It can only smell and hear other mobs and players to hunt them down.

Furthermore, Warden's other unique feature was that it did not spawn in the Deep Dark biome until a player made enough noise to trigger a sculk shrieker block three times. Furthermore, the beast did not drop anything worthwhile when killed by players.

To avoid the Warden, players have to sneak around the Deep Dark area and not trigger any sculk shrieker. If the beast spawns, they need to be extra careful and flee the place.

Creaking

When it comes to the Creaking, it's another unique mob that spawns in the new Pale Garden biomes. This mob spawns as soon as night falls in the Overworld. Hence, its spawning mechanics are quite different from the Warden.

When spawned, it will stay dormant in one place and won't be affected by other mobs. However, if a player arrives, it will activate itself and start chasing the player.

One of the most unique features of Creaking is that it cannot move as long as players can see it on their screen. This is completely different, mechanics-wise, to the Warden, who needs to be avoided by sneaking away from it.

The next unique feature about the Creaking is that it doesn't take damage from any melee or ranged attacks. This is because its heart is essentially a block hidden within the pale trees in the biome. The moment the creaking heart block breaks, it automatically kills the new mob.

Similar to but not the same as the Warden, the Creaking doesn't drop anything of value.

Warden vs Creaking

When looking at both their mechanics, the Warden cannot defeat the Creaking despite its extremely powerful melee and ranged attacks.

The heart of the new mob is a block outside its body, and the Warden cannot attack blocks. The blind monster just hears the sound made by the Creaking and attacks the creature's body instead of its heart.

Therefore, the mob from the Deep Dark biome cannot defeat the wood-like monster no matter how many times it tries to assault the creature from the Pale Garden.

As observed in the above-attached video, the Warden is assaulting the Creaking nonstop, but the latter doesn't even flinch as it counters every blow with its heart block situated elsewhere.
