Minecraft player and Redditor u/Creeprr23 shared a short video on the game's subreddit. The clip shows them breaking shulker boxes in their base and then collecting them. However, upon opening their inventory, they only find one shulker box. So instead of having four of these items, they only get two — one in the hotbar and another in the inventory.
The post also had a caption stating that the original poster reset their console and game. Despite these efforts, nothing happened. They asked the community for a possible explanation other than them playing the Bedrock Edition.

u/XionXxen claimed they had experienced something similar. When breaking multiple shulker boxes, they noticed how a slot of the inventory became unusable. However, restarting the game fixed their issue so the current problem is unique.
Another user u/nvmbernine asked the original poster to save the game, quit Minecraft, and then reload it. They deemed the issue as a visual bug.
u/Gertrudeque sarcastically asked a rhetorical question, saying every player loves the Bedrock Edition. u/Taolan13 claimed that although this bug is not exclusive to Bedrock, it's more frequent than in the Java Edition.
However, u/Ab7203 asserted that they have been playing Java for years and other than the ghost block bug, there are no such issues in that particular edition.
Glitches and bugs in Minecraft
Like any complex game, Minecraft is not free from glitches and bugs. Some of these errors are comical, while others can be frustrating for players.
A common bug across all versions is the "phantom block" glitch, where blocks appear to break but remain visually intact — stifling mining or building as a consequence. Another funny glitch involves mobs like cows or horses spinning uncontrollably or getting stuck in walls. A video of the same bug was recently shared on the game's subreddit.
On the more serious side, some bugs impact gameplay. The duplication glitch, for example, lets players duplicate items unfairly, breaking the in-game economy on multiplayer servers. Meanwhile, lag-related bugs can cause players to fall through the ground or experience delayed actions.
The Bedrock Edition of Minecraft, designed for cross-platform play, is infamous for having more bugs than its Java counterpart. Issues like invisible mobs, broken redstone mechanics, and incorrect chunk loading are more prevalent in the former.
