Regular Minecraft is all about surviving against hostile mobs and only sacrificing passive mobs for important resources like food. On the other hand, EvilCraft forces players to take the darker route, which includes killing innocent passive mobs for a much greater purpose and even using blood to create various blocks and contraptions.

For starters, players will have to create a darkened apple using a regular apple and a dark gem. Then, this needs to be fed to any animal to kill it. Right after the creature dies, the book that the player has needs to be thrown where the mob died. This will collect all the evil magic information in the book and the player needs to eat the dead animal's meat in order to gain powers.

After this, players can create a blood-based machine. Blood itself can be acquired by killing various kinds of mobs. They will also be able to perform various rituals and even summon ghosts.
