Minecraft released the Garden Awakens update on December 3, 2024, which added many new and interesting items to the game. The blocky world got a new overworld biome called the Pale Garden which introduces the Pale Oak tree, the Creaking mob, the Creaking heart, the resin block, and a peculiar flower called the eyeblossom. This particular flower not only improves how the Pale Garden looks but also comes with a handy feature.
Here’s what the eyeblossom flower in Minecraft does, and how you can use it to create new items. Also, if you have a bee farm, make sure to keep them away from these orange glowing flowers.

At first, it might seem that the eyeblossom is a decorative item. You can use it to decorate your base or house as the flower can be planted on various blocks including dirt block, grass block, coarse block, rooted dirt block, farmland block, and much more.
The eyeblossom can also be planted in flower pots so you can keep it inside the base as well. However, that’s not the only use of this new item. You can use it to make dyes. Depending on the time of the day, you can either make gray or orange dye.
During the day, the flower remains closed. If you break it and use it to make dye, you get gray dye. At night, the eyeblossom opens up and has an orange glow. Note that it does not emit light. Using the open version in the crafting table will give you orange dye.
You can also use the open and closed versions of the eyeblossom flower to make suspicious stew. The open flower gives the Blindness effect, while the closed flower gives the Nausea effect. Depending on the Minecraft version, the longevity of the effect can vary.
Important things about eyeblossom
As mentioned before, the eyeblossom has some bizarre qualities. For example, it emits a low and eerie sound when planted on the pale moss block. This way, the flower plays a big role in adding the ambient effect of the Pale Garden.
Another thing worth keeping in mind is that eyeblossom in Minecraft is poisonous to bees. When the mob touches an open eyeblossom flower in any mode other than Peaceful, it will get the Poison effect for a little over a second. The new flower can be used to lead bees but not breed them or even make baby bees grow into adults.
