Where do bogged spawn in Minecraft 1.21?

Minecraft's 1.21 update introduced two new in-game mobs known as the breeze and the bogged. The two creatures are quite different. The breeze is a fairly unique mob in its own right, while the bogged is a particularly toxic variant of the well-known skeleton mob. Where can the bogged be found in the Tricky Trials update? Fans should look to swamps and trial chambers.

As their names suggest, Minecraft 1.21's bogged mobs prefer the murky heat of swamps and mangrove swamps. However, the addition of trial spawner blocks in the Tricky Trials update also allows them to spawn in trial chambers when certain conditions are met.

Examining where and how bogged spawn in Minecraft 1.21

As a relatively standard hostile mob, bogged in Minecraft will spawn when the light level drops to zero. However, the creature's spawning behavior is limited to swamps and mangrove swamps (with regard to natural spawning based on light level). When bogged spawn in swamps, they do so in groups of four. However, their spawning conditions are different when it comes to trial chambers.

In trial chambers, bogged are spawned by trial spawners that are surrounded by specific blocks. A trial spawner's surrounding blocks dictate what kind of hostile mobs it's capable of spawning. In the case of the bogged, fans will want to be on the lookout for trial spawners surrounded by two blocks of podzol, two red mushrooms, and two bone blocks.

When players come within 14 blocks of one of these trial spawners, it will begin spawning bogged every two seconds. However, it will do so with a spawn limit of six bogged if one player is taking on the spawner. However, two additional bogged can be spawned by the block for each additional player that enters the trial spawner's range, which is something to keep in mind during multiplayer.

These are the only locations where bogged can currently appear naturally in Minecraft 1.21, though their spawn eggs are also available via the Creative Mode inventory. They can also be summoned with the command "/summon bogged x y z", where the x, y, and z are the coordinates for where the bogged can be spawned, just in case players would like to find the mob outside their usual spots.

As the game continues to evolve, the bogged may follow suit. The new and toxic skeletal mob may receive new locations to spawn or more mechanics along the way.

However, for the time being, fans can expect to find the bogged in swamps and trial chambers.
