Where to find all Minecraft pig variants

Pigs are one of the most basic farm animals that spawn in Minecraft. They are one of the very first entities that were coded into the game, back in 2009. These iconic creatures spawn in most Overworld biomes, but have different variants based on which region they spawn in. For several years, pigs only had one type, but Mojang recently decided to add two new kinds to Minecraft.

Here is how players can find all three pig variants in Minecraft.

Note: The two new pig variants, cold and warm, are currently in the beta phase and were first added to snapshot 25w02a and beta/preview 1.21.60.25. They will be released in Minecraft's upcoming game drop.

Temperate pigs - original pink pigs

Pink pigs are the original ones. They were added all the way back in 2009 and their textures mostly remained the same throughout the years. They are mostly light pink, with different shades of pink on their feet, nose, and tail. Despite two new variants, they remain the most common since temperate biomes appear more often in the Overworld.

Here is a list of all the biomes they will spawn in:

• Forest
• Flower Forest
• Birch Forest
• Old Growth Birch Forest
• Dark Forest
• Swamp
• Cherry Grove
• Plains
• Sunflower Plains

Cold pigs are one of the two new pig variants recently added to Minecraft. They are part of Mojang enhancing the ambient quotient of several Overworld biomes. These mobs, like the real world, have light skins that look somewhat like thick fur. This is to depict how these animals protect themselves from harsh cold weather. Here is a list of biomes where the cold pigs can be found:

• Old Growth Pine Taiga
• Old Growth Spruce Taiga
• Taiga
• Snowy Taiga
• Windswept Hills
• Windswept Gravely Hills
• Windswept Forest

Warm pigs - new orange pigs

The third and last pig variant is warm pigs. These were also recently added to the game along with cold pigs. They are brownish-orange in color, with pings of dark brown near their paws, nose, and ears. Warm pigs are found in hot and humid locations in Minecraft.

• Savanna Plateau
• Windswept Savanna
• Jungle
• Sparse Jungle
• Bamboo Jungle
• Eroded Badlands
• Wooded Badlands

How to interact with pigs in Minecraft?

Before finding all three different pigs, players must have a stack of potatoes, carrots, or beetroot to lure them if they want to bring them back to the base. Furthermore, these food items can also be used to breed these animals.

All three of these pigs can be ridden as well. Players need to bring a saddle and create a carrot-on-a-stick item to control the mob's movement.
