Minecraft's most difficult game mode is called hardcore. In normal survival mode, players can respawn whenever they die, get all their items back, and continue playing in that world. However, if they die a single time in a hardcore world, they will never respawn normally. The game will not allow them to play in that world ever again.
Hence, here are a few features that lose their purpose when players tackle Minecraft in a hardcore world.
Features that lose their use in Minecraft hardcore
Bed's respawn point feature

Beds are one of the most useful features in Minecraft. They are primarily used to skip nighttime. However, they can also act as a respawn point. If a player dies in a normal survival world, they can respawn on the bed instead of respawning in the spawn chunk itself.
While sleeping is still important, the respawn point feature becomes useless in hardcore mode. This is because players will simply not respawn once they die in this world. Hence, even if a bed sets a respawn point, players will simply not be able to use this feature.
Respawn anchors
Respawn anchors, as the name suggests, are essentially blocks that allow players to respawn in the Nether realm since they usually do not respawn in the hellish realm upon dying. As mentioned above, this will also not have any use in hardcore mode since players will never respawn if they die.
Since respawn anchors do not have any other use in Minecraft, they become useless in hardcore mode.
Curse of Vanishing
The Curse of Vanishing is one of the two enchantments that negatively affect a player in Minecraft. Whenever this curse is applied to a gear, it will vanish from a player's inventory whenever they die. When they respawn in a normal survival world, that particular gear will completely vanish from the world as well.
This, however, won't have any negative effects in hardcore mode since players will never respawn. Hence, even if the item vanishes from the world after their death, they will not be present in it to use anything.
Recovery Compass
The recovery compass is another feature that completely loses its purpose in hardcore mode. This item was recently added with the 1.19 update along with the deep dark biome. It can be crafted with one regular compass and eight echo shards.
Whenever a player dies and respawns, this compass can be used to locate their last death location. It shows the last death location of the player who crafted it. However, since hardcore mode prevents anyone from respawning, the compass loses all its purpose.
