Minecraft has loads of creatures that players can interact with. Some are passive in nature, while others are neutral and some hostile. The Overworld realm even has real-life animals dwelling in different biomes. While the sandbox game does have parrots and chickens, there are no other bird-like creatures in any biome whatsoever.

Hence, an argument can be made that Mojang Studios should add more birds to Minecraft for various reasons.

Reasons why Mojang Studios should add more birds to Minecraft

Variety in flying creatures

As of now, the only bird that flies around in Minecraft is a parrot. Though there are other flying creatures like bats, allays, Ender Dragon, and more, they are not birds.

Since there are loads of real-life creatures in the Overworld realm, adding more birds will drastically enhance the overall look and feel of the dimension. Various birds could be seen in deserts, trees could have all kinds of birds with their nests on top. Player could also see birds flying high in the sky, to improve the scenery.

As of now, whenever players look at the sky, it can feel bland since there are only blocky clouds and nothing else. Hence, birds can be added to the game to make the Overworld feel more alive.

Though there are several mods like Exotic Birds that add more than 100 bird mobs to Minecraft, Mojang Studios could work on some that can be added officially to the base game as well.

Ambient sounds that birds make

Minecraft has a unique soundscape when it comes to exploring different biomes and dimensions. However, it does sound a bit hollow when exploring more regular biomes like plains, forests, and others. One of the reasons that most biomes are eerily quiet is because of the lack of bird sounds. Birds constantly chirp during the day, especially in the morning.

Hence, adding birds like pigeons, robins, blackbirds, and more can chirp in various parts of the Overworld to enhance the soundscape of the sandbox.

Birds will add more features to the game

As of now, players can only tame parrots in Minecraft. They can be fed various kinds of seeds to be tamed and they can also sit on their master's shoulders. If Mojang Studios adds more birds to the game, they can also be tamable in different ways.

Players might need to feed different food items to certain birds to tame them. Furthermore, some birds could also offer special items to their masters. For example, magpies can randomly give shiny ores like diamonds, gold, or even emeralds. Some birds can also give players feathers without getting killed.
