The Pale Garden is a new biome that will soon be added to Minecraft in an upcoming Winter drop. It was recently introduced when Mojang hosted its annual live event in September. The devs also introduced a new mob called the Creaking that will dwell in the biome. As the name suggests, the Pale Garden biome has an eerie feel to it, with all its trees, leaves, and sky being colorless. You also cannot hear anything inside the biome except wood creaking.

Though many players might feel that the Winter drop is not significant enough since it is smaller than a major update, the Pale Garden could heavily impact the overworld realm and player experience.

How the Pale Garden update could make a major impact in Minecraft

A new mob called the Creaking

Creaking is a new hostile mob coming to the Pale Garden with the Winter drop. It is a wood-like creature that is slightly taller than the player and has three yellow eyes placed vertically on its long face. It also only appears during the night.

Interestingly, the creaking will stop in its tracks if a player looks at it directly. More accurately, as long as the mob is visible on the screen, it will not move or attack players.

If players ignore it, it will get up close and hit players with its bare hands, dealing only half a heart of damage in easy mode.

Defeating the Creaking is also a unique challenge since it doesn't take any damage from physical attacks or spells. Its heart is hidden inside one of the pale oak trees and the Creaking simply borrows energy from it to heal when hit. So, players will have to find the heart and destroy it to kill the Creaking.

Such unique mechanics will definitely make the Pale Garden and the Winter Drop much more exciting to explore, especially since the biome offers new blocks and items to loot.

New building blocks and items

Along with the Creaking, the Pale Garden biome also has lots of new building blocks and items to loot. For starters, the new region introduces a brand new wood type - the pale oak. These are completely white in color, offering players the game's first white wood blocks. Players can chop down pale oak trees and craft the logs into planks, slabs, stairs, doors, trapdoors, fences, and more.

Apart from that, when players attack the Creaking, its heart block will secrete resin that solidifies on surrounding pale oak wood logs. These resin clumps can be obtained by simply breaking them with tools or bare hands.

Resin clumps can either be used as it is to color armor trims on armor parts, or smelted to create resin bricks. These bricks can be further crafted into a new line of brick blocks that are bright orange in color.

In conclusion, the Pale Garden drop, which is codenamed the Winter Drop by Mojang, can be quite impactful since it brings with it quite a few brilliant features for players to explore. Not only can players interact with the new mob, but they can also use the new items and blocks as they see fit.
