Why saddles should be craftable in Minecraft

When players enter a new Minecraft world, they will quickly find several mobs to interact with. There is a strong chance that they will find horses early in the game or right after spawning. Horses are considered one of the best friendly mobs players can tame and use for traveling. They do not lose any hunger like the players, and even the slower ones can run much faster than players.

However, there is a strong chance that players will find horses before they find a saddle. To find saddles, players will have to loot dangerous structures like desert pyramids, monster rooms, nether fortresses, etc., which most players will only explore when they have good armor and weapons.

Hence, most players simply tame a good horse and keep them in their base until they get a saddle. However, getting a saddle can take a long while, especially depending on a player's luck and the frequency of their expeditions. It can be quite frustrating for some to have a horse they cannot control simply because of no saddle.

Hence, saddles should be craftable in vanilla Minecraft so that it gives players an early way to travel faster using their horses.

During the early stages of the game, players are forced to walk around for thousands of blocks to explore new biomes and structures. However, if they are unable to find saddles even after exploring multiple structures, this process of traveling on foot can feel tiresome and frustrating. Of course, they can boat on massive water bodies, but a Minecraft world mostly consists of land masses.

Running around can be both slow and resource-intensive. This is because running will quickly deplete a player's hunger bar, and they will have to eat lots of food to keep running and rejuvenate their health. Hence, after a while, a saddle becomes a necessity if players want to explore more chunks.

Even if Mojang demands valuable items to craft a saddle, it will still be quite useful for players as opposed to them not being craftable at all.
