Why upcoming Minecraft update matters more for Bedrock players than Java

Mojang Studios recently announced the Minecraft Bundles of Bravery update in their annual live event. At the event, they talked about the main features that will be released with the new game drop. However, while game drops are a welcome change from the way updates were pushed out previously, the general consensus believes the first drop did not do justice to both Editions equally.

By the looks of things, we can say that Bedrock Edition players will be getting more features in the Bundles of Bravery game drop than Java Edition ones.

Bedrock Edition gets an extra new feature in the form of hardcore mode

A major feature of the first game drop is the hardcore mode in Bedrock Edition. This is exclusive to the edition since the Java edition has had the game mode for several years now. Bedrock players will now be able to enjoy the high-stakes mode featuring permadeath. Once they are dead, they will not respawn normally and can only spectate the world.

Since only one of the two features from the Bundles of Bravey update is arriving in Java, Bedrock players are naturally getting more out of it.

Only bundles are being added to both Java and Bedrock

The Bundle is the star of the entire update since it is being brought to both Java and Bedrock Edition. Even though it is a fresh addition to the sandbox with the game drop, Mojang first unveiled it with the Caves and Cliffs update back in 2020. However, they were dissatisfied with the bundle's functionality on several devices, particularly portable consoles and smartphones, forcing them to put it away for almost four years.

Eventually, in August 2024 the developers acknowledged that they had picked up the bundle's development again and would include it in a future release. In addition to adding new vibrant bundle variations that players can make by dying them on the crafting table, they also completely revamped its user interface.

Players can create these little pouch-like items out of leather and twine, which can hold up to 64 items. The objects can be the same or vary in type, but the count should not exceed 64. It can also be dropped for other players to pick up after it is filled.
