Minecraft's enchantments are almost always beneficial to players in some way. However, it's inarguable that some are significantly less powerful than others, especially when within the claustrophobic confines of 1.21's trial chambers. Knowing which enchantments to avoid before delving into these dangerous structures should ensure players the best chance of surviving.
This article lists 10 of the least useful enchantments for trial chambers, along with what makes them so underpowered.

10 of the worst Minecraft enchantments to use in trial chambers
1) Channeling
Channeling is one of the best enchantments in the entire game, calling down lightning strikes on mobs during thunderstorms. However, this only works on mobs that are exposed to the sky. This means that it's useless in trial chambers, even if it's storming on the surface, making it one of the worst possible enchantments to bring to one of these structures.
2) Blast protection
Blast protection is a poor choice of enchantment since there's only a single source of potential explosive damage within trial chambers. This is found within a randomly generated Minecraft trial chamber trap. Thus, the enchantment is ineffective in trial chambers that don't generate with this specific feature.
3) Bane of Arthropods
Within trial chambers, Bane of Arthropods is only useful against Minecraft spiders, cave spiders, and silverfish. Smite would be a better option, as it would give bonus damage against zombies, baby zombies, husks, skeletons, strays, and bogged. However, sharpness would be even better, giving bonus damage to all mobs, though the bonus is smaller.
4) Knockback
Knockback increases the distance of mobs being pushed back by Minecraft sword attacks. This might seem like a good thing, but it can sometimes be annoying to use. Knocking mobs too far back can make it difficult to land follow-up attacks, resulting in them surviving longer than necessary. This can prove lethal when large groups start to form.
5) Fire protection
Like with blast protection, fire protection is a poor choice of protective enchantment for trial chambers. There are very few areas within trial chambers where players are in danger of fire. Some dispensers contain fire charges and others contain lava, but these are few and far between.
Fire resistance Minecraft potions would also be better than fire protection as an enchantment, as they remove fire damage in its entirety rather than just reducing it like fire protection does.
6) Punch
Punch is similar to knockback, as it can also be frustrating to use. It increases the force with which arrows strike targets. This can make it difficult to land follow-up shots, as mobs are forced backward quickly, leading to players wasting arrows. Ultimately, whether or not punch is a bad trial chamber enchantment comes down to personal preference.
7) Multishot
When it comes to crossbow enchantments, multishot is incredibly outclassed in Minecraft trial chambers. The number of mobs that spawn at once and the close quarters mean that it's hard to damage multiple mobs using the extra arrows of multishot. Piercing is a much better choice for trial chambers, as it lets arrows consistently hit several mobs.
8) Breach
Breach is a Minecraft mace enchantment that reduces the effectiveness of armor against the weapon's attacks. This enchantment is useful during ominous events, as they tend to spawn heavily armored mobs, but density would be a more useful enchantment in the long run, as it increases damage against all mobs.
9) Projectile protection
Projectile protection is the most useful of all the specialized protection enchantments. This is a direct result of the high number of ranged hostile mobs found within trial chambers, including skeletons, strays, and Minecraft bogged.
However, it's still better to use the generic version of protection, which applies extra defense to damage dealt by all hostile Minecraft mobs. This bonus defense might be lower than it would be with a specialized enchantment, but applying it to all damage types makes it significantly more useful for trial chambers.
10) Smite
Smite is similar to projectile protection in that it is the most useful of the specialized damage enchantments. However, having this specialized bonus damage is worse than a generic damage bonus, which can be found using the sharpness enchantment. That said, smite is by no means an ideal choice for taking on trial chambers.
