#3. ONE Fight Night 7 will air live on US Primetime and for free on Amazon Prime Video
ONE Championship’s ever-growing fan base in the United States and Canada are in for a treat, as they won’t have to stay up late to watch ONE Fight Night 7. The entire card will air live on US Primetime. American and Canadian audiences can also enjoy world-class fights without spending a dime as long as they have an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Moreover, they will also witness history, as American BJJ ace Danielle Kelly will take on Ayaka Miura in the first-ever women's submission grappling match inside Lumpinee Stadium. The legendary arena in Bangkok, Thailand, only hosted Muay Thai-exclusive matches in the past.
The promotion has already broken those barriers by bringing MMA and kickboxing bouts through its ONE Friday Fights shows. Now, it’s time to showcase the beauty of submission grappling with the rest of the world, and it starts with ONE Fight Night 7.
#2. Lumpinee’s favorite son returns home
We’ve already seen how electric the atmosphere is at the Lumpinee Stadium during ONE’s weekly Friday Fights cards. That excitement will increase tenfold once Tawanchai PK.Saenchai returns to his roots with a massive golden belt on his shoulders.
The 23-year-old prodigy is set to defend his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title for the first time against the second-ranked challenger Jamal Yusupov. Before becoming a global superstar, Tawanchai sharpened his talons inside the Lumpinee Stadium, where most of his 161 career fights took place.
Tawanchai went on to conquer multiple weight classes in Lumpinee and was awarded the 2018 Lumpinee Stadium Fighter of the Year.
The PK.Saenchai Muay Thai Gym product has reached greater heights since moving to ONE, which is capped off by that sensational five-round beating of Petchmorakot Petchyindee in his last outing. It’s only fitting that Tawanchai officially begins his reign where it all began at ONE Fight Night 7.
Standing in his way, however, is a battle-tested adversary with destructive power in his left hand. ‘Yeniceri’ racked up three straight victories inside the circle, including statement wins over notable Thai warriors Yodsanklai IWE and Jo Nattawut.
All eyes, of course, will be on Tawanchai, and we can expect total pandemonium in the Lumpinee Stadium if he pulls off another decisive victory against Yusupov.
#1. The biggest rematch in ONE Championship history
ONE Championship has had its fair share of intense rivalries over the years, but the bad blood between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker is on a whole different level.
The Brazilian knockout artists will finally settle the score after the controversial end of their first encounter at ONE on Prime Video 3 last year.
Once the dust clears, only one man will leave the Lumpinee stadium with the ONE bantamweight world title. Andrade was on the cusp of realizing his dream of becoming the king of the bantamweights after nearly handing Lineker the first knockout loss of his storied career.
That dream was crushed – along with Lineker’s groin cup – after Andrade inadvertently kneed ‘Hands of Stone’ in the nether regions, resulting in the fight ending in an unfortunate no-contest. Lineker, on the other hand, has insisted that Andrade did not beat him in the first fight.
But as far as the 25-year-old is concerned, he now owns a mental edge over the former world champion after that near finish. Even Hollywood could not have written a better script for these two heated adversaries.
Judgment Day is finally upon us, and we can’t wait to see how this rivalry unravels in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7.
