#1 Chris Weidman loses to Ronaldo Souza
The former long reigning Middleweight Champion had recently snapped a three fight losing streak to apparently put his UFC career back on track when he submitted Kevin Gastelum at UFC on Fox in July 2017.
The first man to ever stop Anderson Silva was once one of the biggest stars in the promotion and when it was announced that UFC 230 would see him contest a re-match with Luke Rockhold, the man who gave him his first MMA defeat and snatched the Middleweight Championship away from him, the anticipation grew greatly among the UFC fan-base.

However, the re-match wasn't to be as Rockhold withdrew from the card due to injury and Weidman faced Ronaldo Souza instead.
Souza, the 38 year old veteran was once a contender in the division but his inability in his UFC career to put a run of wins together had ensured the likelihood of a title shot was virtually nil.
However, in a major surprise, Souza rolled the clock back in a brilliant performance to win the fight via TKO in the third round.
Weidman's UFC career, with four losses in his past five fights is now in serious jeopardy. There is every chance, the Rockhold sequel will now never happen.
