#1 Yair Rodriguez vs. Chan Sung Jung – UFC Fight Night 139 – 11/10/2018
Early November saw the UFC present its 25th year anniversary show from the city where it all started – Denver, Colorado – and a fun night of fights was given something extra-special in the main event, as exciting Featherweights Yair Rodriguez and ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung went to war.
For the full 25 minutes, the two men threw literally everything they had at one another in what was one of 2018’s greatest fights.

As the clock ticked down in the fifth and final round, it felt like the only thing the fight was missing was a finish.
But with seconds on the clock, it didn’t look like we would get one – especially when both men chose to raise their hands in a sign of both respect and acknowledgement of the war they’d put on. But the proverbial fat lady hadn’t quite started singing just yet.
Looking for one final assault to cement a likely decision victory, Jung charged forward swinging a combination; Rodriguez ducked under a punch and in one deft movement, threw a right elbow upwards at his opponent without even looking at where it was headed.
Somehow, the shot connected perfectly with Jung’s jaw, and as the buzzer sounded to end the fight, ‘The Korean Zombie’ fell face-first to the ground, unconscious.
Not only had Rodriguez pulled off a miracle victory – in literally the last second of the last round of the fight – but he’d done it in a completely unique way, as nobody had ever managed an elbow knockout from that kind of angle in UFC history.
It was a completely insane way to end the promotion’s 25th anniversary show, and it stands out by far as being the greatest knockout of 2018.
