Number 2 is a very significant one as his opponent here, Chad Mendes is arguably the most similar to his next opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Irishman spent the majority of this fight on his back as he was up against an elite level wrestler in Mendes.

However, McGregor was still dangerous despite this, landing some very nasty elbows from the bottom.
