#5 Conor McGregor's 'Road House' interview alongside Jake Gyllenhaal

Conor McGregor starred in 'Road House' (2024), a remake of the 1989 cult classic movie which was also titled 'Road House.' He played the antagonist in the film, while Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal was the protagonist. The movie reportedly helped McGregor break records and proved to be a great success, so much so that many movie buffs advised McGregor to continue his acting ventures.

Earlier this year, McGregor and Gyllenhaal featured in an interview with Sports Illustrated, promoting their movie. Many fight fans, movie buffs, as well as others who watched the interview noticed McGregor's excessive twitching and uncharacteristic behavior. Speculation abounded that the MMA icon was likely under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

Additionally, some pondered whether McGregor's eccentric nature played a role in it. Either way, the interview was deemed one of his funniest. Whether the twitching and constant shoulder shrugging was intentional or perhaps a prank to get people talking is ultimately known only to McGregor himself.

#4 Conor McGregor impersonates Michael Chandler

Back in April 2024, UFC CEO and president Dana White set the MMA community abuzz with excitement, officially announcing that Conor McGregor would return to the octagon at UFC 303 (June 29, 2024). His opponent was to be, unsurprisingly, Michael Chandler -- the same person he'd starred with as a rival coach on Season 31 of 'The Ultimate Fighter' in 2023.

Mimicking Chandler from the time they spent as rival coaches on 'TUF 31', McGregor mockingly stated the following in a voice note on X:

"We're gonna fight right now? We're gonna do this right now? Right here and right now?"

Chandler responded with a voice note of his own, saying:

"Conor, it's too late to be scared."

McGregor supposedly deleted the post featuring the voice note soon thereafter. Regardless, its impact was deemed to be far greater than that of Chandler's. The Irishman's voice and intonation -- hilariously painting his American foe as a docile rival on 'TUF' 31 -- was nothing short of a stinging jibe ahead of their long-awaited fight.

Unfortunately, a toe injury ruled McGregor out of UFC 303. Chandler instead rematched Charles Oliveira in November 2024.

#3 Conor McGregor fires Mike Perry

Ex-UFC welterweight Mike Perry gradually became one of the most prominent fighters in the BKFC. He even captured the symbolic 'King of Violence' title. Perry last knocked out fellow UFC alum Thiago Alves in their bare-knuckle boxing bout under the BKFC banner in April 2024. Around the same time in 2024, Conor McGregor was announced to be BKFC's new co-owner.

However, Perry then faced YouTuber-cum-boxer Jake Paul in a professional boxing match in July 2024 and was knocked out in a one-sided beatdown. Paul is no stranger to McGregor, having made extremely personal remarks about him and pursued a fight against the UFC legend for several years.

Although McGregor seemed supportive of Mike Perry to put Paul away heading into their boxing match, Perry's one-sided defeat seemingly irked him. Taking to X, McGregor lambasted Paul for alleged steroid use and for fighting an opponent considerably lighter than him.

Also, blasting Mike Perry and his Dirty Boxing Championship, McGregor posted:

"Hey Mike youre released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck. You're fired. @bareknucklefc"

Perry subsequently hit back by insinuating that McGregor only partly owned the BKFC and couldn't fire him. 'Platinum' also recently appeared in the BKFC ring, not to compete, but to issue a BKFC call-out to former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler who was in attendance.

On his Overdogs Podcast, Perry recently hinted that he's been awaiting news for his next BKFC fight booking. He alluded that perhaps his professional boxing defeat against Paul has impacted his BKFC career. Also, he pondered whether he had truly been fired from the BKFC.

#2 Conor McGregor jibes at Belal Muhammad after UFC 310 appearance

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad was supposedly called into the octagon for a face-off with Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 in December 2024, minutes after Rakhmonov's unanimous decision win over Ian Machado Garry. The security personnel initially refused to let Muhammad pass through.

UFC color commentator and octagon interviewer Joe Rogan then seemed to jest that the security didn't know Muhammad was the champion. Eventually, Muhammad was let in and posed for a face-off with Rakhmonov. McGregor -- who's long been at loggerheads with Muhammad, his manager Ali Abdelaziz, and their acquaintance Khabib Nurmagomedov -- sounded off in a voice note on X:

"Hahaha. The security doesn't know he's the champ. Look at the state of this c**t. The security doesn't know he's the champ. I'm not surprised, motherf**ker. Oh, mate, he is an a**hole, that thingy."

Seemingly mimicking Muhammad's voice, McGregor then continued lambasting him:

"'I'm gonna try to ...' Shut your mouth, you little dope. You barely got into the ring. They don't even know you're the champion, d**k. Who's this f**king guy? 'Who the f**k is that guy?' -- the security said. Yeah? Ah, stop it. Who asked for it, yeah? "

Abdelaziz hit back at McGregor. Also, Muhammad has consistently jabbed at 'The Notorious' on social media before and after UFC 310. Regardless, McGregor's voice note, timing, and delivery had already done the damage and had fans rolling with laughter -- with many even jokingly pointing out the irony of Muhammad's nickname which is 'Remember the Name.'

#1 Conor McGregor's all-time classic Duelbits live-stream in 2024

Conor McGregor's toe injury forced him out of his booked fight against Michael Chandler in June 2024, and his legal issues later in the year are also believed to have delayed his possible return to MMA competition. In November 2024, UFC head honcho Dana White asserted that McGregor would likely come back to the octagon in late 2025.

In December 2024, McGregor sent shockwaves across the fighting and broader pop culture realms, tweeting that he was in preliminary agreements with the Ambani Family for an exhibition boxing bout against Logan Paul in India. Rumors are rife that McGregor could box against either Logan or his younger brother Jake Paul in India in 2025.

However, some fans have questioned whether McGregor's return in any combat sport would truly materialize at this point. They argued that he's an incredibly wealthy businessperson, who has forged a tremendous legacy, and might not be motivated to fight again.

A key element supporting that argument from some of his critics is his alleged alcohol and substance indulgence potentially denting his comeback plans. Back in September 2024, a seemingly intoxicated McGregor made waves with an all-time classic live stream for betting outlet, Duelbits.

Right from directing trash talk at his rivals to speaking about various other topics, all while smoking and drinking, McGregor was at his comedic and eccentric peak through the live stream.
