#2. Conor McGregor reveals he was injured before UFC 229 to Ariel Helwani

Conor McGregor, while in conversation with Ariel Helwani, opened up about his performance in his title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. He revealed that he had gone into the fight with a broken foot.

McGregor went on to reveal that he had suffered the injury during his training camp. However, he chose to soldier on instead of pulling out of the fight and paid the price. However, it was the way he described his injury that cracked fans up.

"You must understand my foot was a balloon when I walked into that fight. My foot was a balloon. My toes came out of the socket and a guy had to come into the cage and break them back into place, the thing ballooned out and I hobbled in there and walked him down and did not give two sh*ts."

#1. Conor McGregor at UFC 178 media day

While in conversation with Megan Olivi and the media ahead of his first fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 178, Conor McGregor offered fans a number of funny moments. In true McGregor fashion, he talked himself up and his skills inside the octagon.

"I'm just being myself. This is who I am. I like to look good and whoop a**. It's what I do best. I'm not trying to be nobody but me. September 27, I'm going to whoop Dustin's head clean off. Just another pea head. Dustin thinks it's all talk, but when he wakes up with his nose plastered on the other side of his face, he's going to know its not all talk."

The fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 178 set the trilogy saga in motion that would see Conor McGregor win the first installment but lose the next two against 'The Diamond'.

However, his loss in their third bout left a lot to be desired. The former two-division UFC champ suffered a gruesome broken leg towards the end of the opening round. With that inconclusive ending in mind, Dana White might be convinced to set up a fourth clash between the pair when McGregor recovers.
