After an intense staredown, both fighters went at it. Jackson threw wild haymakers that caught ‘The Beastman’ towards the end of the first round. The round concluded with Jackson taking a dominant position in the clinch and landing knees to the body, while Eastman threw punches.
In the second-round, ‘Rampage’ once again got Eastman in the clinch and knocked him down with vicious uppercuts. He added a few more ground strikes to earn the knockout win and avenge his loss to ‘The Beastmaster.’
#3. ‘Rampage’ knocks out Chuck Liddell – UFC 71
Jackson’s knockout win over Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell at UFC 71 was a significant moment in his career. It was a highly anticipated rematch from their bout four years prior at PRIDE: Final Conflict 2003, which saw ‘Rampage’ defeat Liddell. His TKO win saw him advance to the PRIDE middleweight Grand Prix final.
After an impressive UFC debut, Jackson earned an opportunity to challenge Liddell for his light heavyweight championship. Like their first encounter, ‘Rampage’ would pick up the victory by finishing ‘The Iceman.’ However, this time he defeated Liddell much quicker.
'Rampage' Jackson threw a right-hook that landed clean on Chuck Liddell’s jaw resulting with him dropping to the canvas. ‘Rampage’ went in for the finish and became the new UFC light heavyweight champion. In the end, Jackson just had Liddell’s number and proved it by defeating him at the peak of his career.
