UFC in 2020 is going to be one of the most exciting years in MMA history. The first quarter alone promises to deliver three massive main events, with many money fights coming up and the title picture in certain divisions clearing up as well.

Moreover, 2019 also saw a lot of fighters change weight classes, stacking up certain divisions. But this list isn't just about those money fights and title fights, it's the divisions as a whole and which ones are most exciting.

As we know, the Men and Women's Flyweight fall under the opposite category since they're not that stacked nor promoted, but many of the lower weight classes have stacked up and promise to deliver some incredible fights next year.

Without further ado, let's analyze the five most exciting UFC divisions in 2020 and what it is that makes them must-watch.

#5. Women's Strawweight

It's no secret that the 115-pound division has the highest concentration of elite-level female talent in all of MMA. The Featherweight division was created for Cris Cyborg who isn't around now and the Bantamweight division has been cleared up by The Lioness Amanda Nunes.

Strawweight, however, is very different. After Rose Namajunas defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk in 2017, the doors were busted wide open and the title has since gone to Jessica Andrade before the Chinese sensation Weili Zhang dethroned her earlier in 2019.

Zhang vs Jedrzejczyk is expected to be the next title fight but apart from just that, the return of Tatiana Suarez brings a lot of excitement too. There are a whole bunch of fights in the 115-pound division that promise to excite and the Top 10 fights are going to be entertaining to watch. It will continue the evolution of Women's MMA.

#4. Welterweight

Welterweight has grown in excitement this past year. 2019 will conclude with a showdown between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington which will give a clear picture as to what's next.

Jorge Masvidal seems to be next in line but he's made it clear that it's not the title he cares about the most - it's the money. With that said, we could see the potential return of Nick Diaz to face Masvidal. Even Conor McGregor vs Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone will be at Welterweight.

Leon Edwards is expected to face Tryon Woodley in early 2020 as well, while Rafael Dos Anjos takes on Michael Chiesa on January 25th.

#3. Middleweight

There's a new king of the 185-ers! The new Kiwi Champion Israel Adesanya has taken the Middleweight division by storm and expects to continue his momentum in 2020 as he called out Yoel Romero following Paulo Costa's injury.

If Adesanya makes it out healthy, then a clash against Paulo Costa seems inevitable but there's a lot of new blood in the division. Darren Till vs Robert Whittaker is a high possibility for early 2020 while Jared Cannonier is just a win away from earning a title shot.

#2. Bantamweight

When talking about a division that has a new life, look no further than the Men's Bantamweight division. New names include Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar while champion Henry Cejudo is expected to return by the first quarter of 2020.

Aljamain Sterling, Petr Yan, Urijah Faber, Marlon Moraes and more are all names that could cause a big impact and Cody Garbrandt returns in early 2020 as well. The competition at Bantamweight is greater than it ever has been before and we couldn't be more excited about it!

#1. Lightweight

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson, fingers crossed, will take place on April 18th, 2020. We hope for the best and that fifth time is a charm and there's hardly any need to justify why 155 will remain the most exciting division in the UFC.

For one, it's by far the most stacked and every one of the top 15 could reach new heights on any given day. It's a shark tank of a division and Conor McGregor will look to get right back into the mix as well.

Justin Gaethje is waiting it out for a title shot and his direction should be clear after April 18th. We can hardly wait and Lightweight is going to deliver the most high-level match-ups in the UFC today.
