Daniel Cormier has said publicly that he will retire in March of next year, which is probably why he's taking the fight with Stipe Miocic. Simply put: Cormier wants his last two or three fights to be big, and aside from booking Conor McGregor vs. Georges St-Pierre, DC vs. Lesnar is the biggest fight the UFC can make.
As previously mentioned, Dana White said that the winner of DC vs. Stipe gets Brock Lesnar next, but I wouldn't be surprised if the UFC booked Lesnar vs. DC even if the latter ends up losing to Stipe this summer.
