#2. Conor McGregor has secured the most consecutive post-fight bonuses

Conor McGregor has also set a UFC record for most consecutive post-fight bonuses earned in the octagon. With such apt finishing abilities, Conor McGregor has found himself atop another list.

The Irish superstar has earned eight post-fight bonuses. Along his UFC path, McGregor's hands have earned him a lot of cash. In addition to holding the record with eight consecutive bonuses, seven of those were for achieving performance of the night. Of course, the two bonuses were the result of McGregor's pair of fights with Nate Diaz.

The Irishman first met Diaz in 2016. To his surprise, his energy systems didn't hold up, and Diaz seemed to be getting stronger as the fight progressed. When the second round began, McGregor shot for a sloppy double-leg takedown, and Diaz sprawled and shut it down. Despite being bloodied and battered, Diaz would turn the MMA world on its head after submitting McGregor in the second round.

Conor McGregor earned another UFC fight of the night honors in his epic rematch with Nate Diaz. The second fight came roughly four months later, and McGregor showed how much game planning and cardio mean to being a dominant UFC fighter. Despite struggling with the length of Diaz in their second encounter, McGregor scored a unanimous decision.

#1. Conor McGregor is the only UFC fighter to top the Forbes' highest paid athletes list

With all of the money and accolades Conor McGregor has accrued during his career, there are some records his peers simply won't get close to. While much of the Irish superstar's wealth has been collected outside the octagon, McGregor still made a fortune within the UFC.

However, with his Irish Whiskey Proper No. 12 sales booming since its inception, it's no mystery that McGregor is a savvy businessman. The Irish superstar has a clothing line named August McGregor. Through the years as an elite UFC fighter, McGregor parlayed his wealth into more financial opportunity.

Even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Conor McGregor topped the Forbes' list of highest paid athletes for 2021. The former two-division titleholder fought twice in 2021. In the span of time, 'The Notorious' has secured the number one spot on the coveted list.

After joining the likes of NBA legend LeBron James and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, McGregor will likely be the only UFC athlete to top the list any time soon. Granted, the UFC has a marketable atmosphere to help fighters reach new heights but catching up with a tycoon like Conor McGregor will be quite difficult.
