Ahmed Mujtaba is prepared for his clash against Sage Northcutt at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video.
On May 5, Mujtaba makes his seventh appearance in the Circle in ONE’s first event on North American soil. ‘Wolverine’ will have a tough mountain to climb as Northcutt is motivated to get back on track after a four-year layoff. During an interview with ONE Championship, the Pakistan-born fighter had this to say about his upcoming opponent:
“Sage is a nice guy. Of course, he might be hungry for his comeback. He might be well prepared. But you know I’m in this game, and I don’t fall too simply, and I’m ready for this.”
Since making his promotional debut in November 2016, Mujtaba has won four of six fights under the ONE banner. The 30-year-old last fought in November 2022, defeating Abraao Amorim to secure his second consecutive first-round finish.

Northcutt hasn’t fought since his promotional debut in May 2019. ‘Super’ Sage fought up a weight class at welterweight and suffered a devastating first-round knockout against Cosmo Alexandre.
The American superstar has been recovering from facial fractures from his last fight and COVID-19. He is looking to validate his world championship aspirations by winning at ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5 at the 1stBank Center.

Ahmed Mujtaba is finding success training at American Kickboxing Academy
Ahmed Mujtaba trains at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California. The powerhouse gym has produced several MMA world champions, including Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier, and Cain Velasquez.
During an interview with ONE Championship, Mujtaba had this to say about his preparations for Sage Northcutt:
“The training is going good, you know. Especially, AKA is one of the top gyms in the world that has made really good champions. So I’m under good management. I’m under good coaches.”
Mujtaba vs. Northcutt is one of eleven matchups announced for the historic event on May 5. The night will end with three world championship fights - Demetrious Johnson vs. Adriano Moraes 3 for the ONE flyweight world title, Rodtang Jitmuangnon vs. Edgar Tabres for the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title, and Mikey Musumeci vs. Osamah Almarwai for the ONE flyweight submission grappling world title.
