After suffering consecutive losses, Alex Perez established a ten-fight winning streak before losing his next two fights. He recovered from the losses and compiled a professional record of 16 wins and 4 losses before appearing at Dana White’s Contender Series 5. He squared off against Kevin Gray in the fight and defeated him by first-round technical submission. The win earned him a contract with the UFC.
