Alexander Romanov is a prominent professional mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division. He was drawn towards combat sports as a child and started training in freestyle wrestling at the age of seven. Currently, Romanov is signed with the professional mixed martial arts giant the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where he is ranked No. 13 in the heavyweight division.

On November 19, 2016, Alexander Romanov made his professional mixed martial arts debut against Yuriy Protsenko at Eagles FC 3 in a heavyweight bout. He dispatched Protsenko in the first round by submission with the help of a rear naked choke to start his professional career with a convincing win. After winning his first seven fights, Romanov defeated Alexander Stolyarov by a first-round TKO to win the EFC heavyweight championship.

After competing in various fight promotions and maintaining a perfect record devoid of any professional loss, Alexander Romanov eventually ventured into the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on September 12, 2020. He was welcomed to the octagon by Roque Martinez at UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs. Hill. Romanov finished Martinez in the second round with the help of an arm triangle choke earning him a second-round submission victory. Romanov has been a regular competitor in the promotion since his debut and is scheduled to lock horns with Jailton Almeida at UFC 302 in a heavyweight showdown.
