At UFC 277 on July 30, 2022, Pantoja faced Alex Perez. He won the fight early in the first round with a neck crank submission. Pantoja received his third Performance of the Night award as a result of the victory. On July 8, 2023, at UFC 290, Pantoja beat Brandon Moreno and became the new UFC Flyweight Champion. He then defended his title against Brandon Royval at UFC 296 on December 16, 2023. At UFC 301, Pantoja defended his belt via a unanimous decision against Steve Erceg on May 4, 2024.
