At ONE Fight Night 8, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues made a successful return to the competition.
After nearly three years away from the Circle due to the birth of her first child, the atomweight Muay Thai world champion stepped back inside the cage in Singapore and defended her title.
With a unanimous decision win against Janet Todd, the Brazilian reclaimed her status as the undisputed world champion but one contender had something to say.
Stamp Fairtex lost her Muay Thai world championship to Rodrigues back when the Brazilian made her debut appearance competing under the ONE banner in 2020.

With the champion being away for so long, it's clear that Stamp has been waiting on the sidelines for her opportunity at revenge. As soon as the fight’s verdict was announced, she had something to say about Rodrigues’ return.
In her post-event interview, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues addressed Stamp’s call out directly:
“Stamp called me out. I'm going to be there. Just tell us the day and the time.”
To date, Rodrigues has beaten two of the best fighters in the division, and it’s certainly understandable that the confidence in keeping her spot on top of it is sky high at the moment.
"I am going to be a better fighter" - Allycia Hellen Rodrigues
In her return to competition at ONE Fight Night 8: Superlek vs. Williams, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues successfully defended her place on top of the atomweight Muay Thai division.
With a unanimous decision win against interim titleholder Janet Todd, the Brazilian reclaimed her status as the undisputed champion of the division.
After being gone for three years, fans had a lot of questions about how Rodrigues would look in her return. Not only would she be taking on an elite competitor after a long period of inactivity, fans only had one previous contest under the ONE banner to judge her from.
On March 24, Rodrigues produced a performance that was similar in a lot of ways to her debut win against Stamp Fairtex.
After losing the opening two rounds, she rallied in the third and changed the momentum of the fight. By winning the final three rounds, Rodrigues got her hands raised just like she did back in 2020.
In her post-event interview after the fight, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues spoke about the factors that made the fight so similar to her contest with Stamp:
“It's similar (with Stamp), but I think I work more with my hands this time because I was training a lot of boxing styles. I promise next time, I will start the fight stronger. I was out for a long time but now I [am back]. I am going to be a better fighter.”
