Allycia Hellen Rodrigues says it’s only fair for her to challenge Janet Todd for her kickboxing gold

Brazil's Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is eyeing another matchup with Janet Todd—this time for the women's atomweight kickboxing world title.

Rodrigues is ONE Championship's undisputed women's atomweight Muay Thai queen following her decision victory over Janet Todd at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

The 24-year-old now has her sights set on attaining a second world title. She spoke to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) about challenging 'JT' for the kickboxing throne after her recent victory, stating:

"We don’t have a lot of experience in kickboxing, but she came for my belt and now we want to try for her belt too and we just want the chance and we’re gonna try our best. We’re gonna give it our best."

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues pens a heartfelt message to her supporters after ONE Fight Night 8 victory

Rodrigues took an extended layoff from competition to give birth to her first child, but she always knew she'd come back stronger than ever. The newly-crowned champ thanked her supporters via Instagram, writing:

"Thank you my god for everything you've done in my life, it's a happiness that doesn't fit in the chest to live that moment again feel all that adrenaline again after 2 years stopped i have no words to explain. This one is for all the moms who had to start over and even with all the difficulties, we always get back on top and come back even stronger."

The Phuket Fight Club standout is looking to be active since making her return. Prior to ONE Fight Night 8, Rodrigues hadn't fought since beating Stamp Fairtex to acquire the women's atomweight Muay Thai crown back in August 2020.

Not only did Rodrigues beat Todd, but she put an end to her opponent's impressive seven-fight win streak. The Brazilian proved to be one of the top atomweight striker's on earth in her return to action.
