Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is locked in for her upcoming fight against Janet Todd.
On March 24, Rodrigues returns to the Circle with hopes of claiming undisputed world champion status in the atomweight Muay Thai division. The 24-year-old hasn’t fought in nearly three years since becoming pregnant, with her last fight being a split decision win against Stamp Fairtex.
While she was away, Todd capitalized on an interim world title opportunity, setting up an undisputed matchup for December 2022. Unfortunately, ‘JT’ tested positive for COVID, leading to their fight being pushed back to ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.
Rodrigues recently posted a video on Instagram showcasing her preparations for Todd with the caption saying:

Rodrigues has a lot to prove at ONE Fight Night 8. The 24-year-old needs to silence the doubters questioning if ring rust will play a factor in her future as a fighter. She also lives a different life now that she has a son. Only time will tell if the Brazilian can pick up where she left off.

Janet Todd says defeating Allycia Hellen Rodrigues would be a dream come true
Janet Todd has her own reasons to be extra motivated heading into ONE Fight Night 8. The reigning ONE atomweight kickboxing world champion saw an opportunity to become a two-sport queen and capitalized against Lara Fernandez in July 2022. She is now looking to take out Allycia Hellen Rodrigues to claim the undisputed throne.
During an interview with ONE Championship, Todd had this to say about what it would mean to defeat Rodrigues:
“Oh man, it’s been four years in the making now. And the fact that I had to wait again for another three months. Yeah, it’s been something I’ve wanted for a really long time. So I’m really looking forward to it. And it’s a dream come true. It’s something that I have wanted for four years.”
Rodrigues vs. Todd is one of two world championship fights at ONE Fight Night 8. In the headlining bout, Rodtang Jitmuangnon looks to become a two-sport champion by dethroning Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the flyweight kickboxing world championship. Along with all ONE Fight Night events, the March 24 event will be broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
