Nunes (22-5 MMA, 15-2 UFC) thoroughly dominated Peña (11-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) throughout five rounds to win a unanimous decision and regain the women's bantamweight title at American Airlines Center in Dallas. As a result, Amanda Nunes is once again a dual-division titleholder.

Early Life and Career
Amanda started her martial arts journey when she took capoeira classes at the age of 5 and subsequently took up karate at 7 and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 16. Nunes won a gold medal at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in 2009 and the North American Grappling Association world champion in the lightweight and absolute divisions in 2012.
Amanda started training MMA in 2007 and would make her professional debut in 2008 at Prime MMA Championship 2, which she lost in the first round by armbar submission. The Lioness would go on a 6-fight-win streak after her debut loss before signing up with Strikeforce. She would have a record of 1-1 at Strikeforce before she left the promotion for Invicta FC, where she would also have a record of 1-1 before she signed up with the UFC with a professional record of 7-3.

Nunes would make her UFC debut against Sheila Gaff at UFC 163, which she would win in the first round via TKO (Punches and Elbows). She would win her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in the first round before losing to Cat Zingano at UFC 178 in the third round via Submission. Nunes would bounce back, go on a dominating 3-fight-win streak, and get a title shot at the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship against the then-champion Miesha Tate. Amanda would dominate Tate and end the fight in the first round via rear naked choke to become the new UFC Bantamweight Champion and the first openly gay UFC Champion.
Nunes would defend her title against Rona Rousey, twice against Valentina Shevchenko and Raquel Pennington before moving up to featherweight to fight Cris Cyborg at UFC 232 for the UFC Women's Featherweight Championship. Amanda knocked out Cyborg inside the first minute of the fight to become the first 2-division female Champion in UFC history. After becoming the 2 division champion, Nunes would defend go back to defend her bantamweight against Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie and go back to featherweight again to defeat Megan Anderson at UFC 259 to extend her UFC win streak to 12.
