Former UFC welterweight Jake Shields has been pretty vocal about his thoughts on the Andrew Tate controversy. The California native recently uploaded a tweet regarding 'Top G's arrest in Romania.
In his tweet, the 44-year-old called Tate's imprisonment 'unfair' and asked whether the U.S. Embassy had gotten involved in the matter:
"Has the US embassy been in contact with Romania about the unfair imprisonment of Andrew Tate?"

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were recently arrested in Romania for their possible involvement in human trafficking. One interesting thing to note here is that the arrest may not have come as a total surprise to 'Top G.'
During his appearance on the TimboSugarShow podcast with UFC rising star Sean O'Malley and MMA coach Tim Welch, Tate said that there were entities out there that were trying to put him inside a prison cell:
"First they delete you and then after that there are imaginary charges and send you to jail. And the third is put a bullet in your head. I've kind of used up one of my lives. So when they were contacting and calling all these people it's like they're trying to drum up some charges on me. They're just trying to find a reason to send me to jail." (1:00:00 onward)

Sean O'Malley weighs in on Andrew Tate's arrest in Romania
Sean O'Malley has shared his thoughts on Andrew Tate being imprisoned in Romania.
In a recent episode of TimboSugarShow, O'Malley argued that if the Tate brothers were really involved in illegal activities, it would not have been ideal for them to have such a huge online presence:
"Top G and his brother Tristan went to prison, I don't know if it was prison man. Did they get out yet or are they on a 30-day hold? I don't know man. [Welch: Innocent until proven guilty] Yeah, that's true. They're clearly intelligent. If they were making bread and they were doing it illegally, I don't think they'd be on the internet as much, talking as much as they do."
O'Malley and Tim Welch met up with Tate in Abu Dhabi ahead of 'Sugar's fight at UFC 280 and also recorded an episode with him for their podcast.
