UFC lightweight Anshul Jubli is only the second Indian fighter to step into the octagon.
Jubli made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivac on 4th February, 2023. He fought on the preliminary card against Indonesian fighter Jeka Saragih, who had 13 professional wins under his belt.
Jubli got a second-round win against Saragih after some heavy ground and pound. He even earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his impressive debut performance.

'King of Lions' is set to become the first Indian to feature in two UFC fights. He is scheduled to take on American lightweight Mike Breeden on UFC 294's preliminary card on 21st October, 2023.
The upcoming pay-per-view will be headlined by the lightweight title rematch between Islam Makhachev and Brazilian challenger Charles Oliveira.
Jubli's opponent, Mike Breeden, has the experience advantage over him with a record of 10 wins and six losses in 16 fights. However, Breeden has not fared well inside the UFC octagon, having lost all three of his bouts since his debut in 2021 against Alexander Hernandez.
Anshul Jubli UFC: How did 'King of Lions' get to the UFC?
Anshul Jubli hails from the state of Uttarakhand in India and spent his childhood living in various states due to his father's occupation in the army. Jubli started training at the age of 22 after being introduced to MMA through the Internet and moved to Delhi to avail better training.
The undefeated fighter made his professional debut in 2019 for India's premier mixed martial arts promotion founded by Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. In the first two years of professional combat, Jubli was undefeated through five fights and had both submission and knockout victories under his belt.
Anshul Jubli then entered the Road to UFC competition's first edition, competing against other Asian mixed martial artists in the lightweight category. He won in the semifinals of the tournament against South Korean fighter Kyung Pyo Kim via split decision and then took on Jeka Saragih at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivac in the finale.
The victory against Saragih won him a five-fight contract with the UFC and a Performance of the Night bonus as a reward for his dominant performance. The memorable post-fight octagon interview is a sign of the proud heritage that Jubli intends to represent on a global stage.
