Arman Tsarukyan is a 28-year-old professional fighter competing in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Tsarukyan is an Armenian-Russian subject who started his career early in freestyle wrestling and later switched to ice hockey. However, he had to give up on hockey due to family responsibilities and later picked up on mixed martial arts during his adulthood. Starting his professional career in 2015, the 28-year-old fighter boasts a record of 22 wins and 3 losses in mixed martial arts. Before signing up with the UFC, Arman Tsarukyan had competed in numerous promotions, ranging from MFP (where he was a former lightweight champion) to Road FC.

Arman Tsarukyan made his UFC debut with an outstanding record of 13 wins and 1 loss. For his octagon debut, Tsarukyan faced the current lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Oleinik on April 20, 2019. He lost the bout to Makhachev via a unanimous decision after the three-rounder in Saint Petersburg, Russia. However, both contenders received a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for their showcase. Nevertheless, Tsarukyan bounced back from his loss to Makhachev with a win against Olivier Aubin-Merciera at UFC 240 via decision. Followed by two more unanimous decision wins against Davi Ramos and Matt Frevola, respectively. Moreover, Tsarukyan had two more consecutive wins against Christos Giagos and Joel Alvarez via first and second-round TKO, respectively.
