Austen Lane is a 35-year-old former American football defensive and current mixed martial arts competitor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

He started his professional MMA career in 2017 and is currently on a record of 12 wins and 3 losses

Before joining the UFC, Lane was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2010 draft. His college football years were spent at Murray State. Austen has been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, and Chicago Bears.

Austen Lane made his official UFC debut against Justin Tafa in a heavyweight bout at UFC on ABC 5 on June 24, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida, United States in a bout that was ruled as a no-contest after Lane accidentally poked Tafa in the eye.

Austen Lane was initially poised to square off against Justin Tafa in Jacksonville. The former Jaguars defensive was set to return this time in a UFC octagon in Duval in his inaugural UFC showdown against Justin Tafa at UFC on ABC 5. The fight resulted in a no-contest, and now the duo will be fighting each other in a heavyweight showdown at UFC 293.
