The longest reigning Pride FC Heavyweight Champion in history is looking to add the Bellator Heavyweight Championship to his resume.
Standing in his way of a Championship match is fellow veteran, Chael Sonnen.
Sonnen retired from MMA competition following a series of failed drug tests. He was banned for two years.
Following the expiration of his suspension, Sonnen penned a multi-fight contract with Bellator in September 2016.
However, his comeback was a brief one as he lost to veteran Tito Ortiz in just two minutes.
However, the 41-year-old soon bounced back with notable victories over the legendary Wanderlei Silva and Quinton Jackson and is a viable threat to Emelianenko despite his inexperience as a Heavyweight.
However, it is extremely difficult to see past Emelianenko in this fight. The Russian is one of the finest Heavyweights in all of MMA history and demonstrated in his 48-second destruction of former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Frank Mir.
Despite his advancing age, Emelianenko has only lost one of his last seven bouts. He will win this one as well.
Prediction: Fedor Emelianenko via Knockout
