#5 Gegard Mousasi vs Lyoto Machida

The old rivals went at it once again

In a rematch of their UFC fight, Gegard Mousasi and Lyoto Machida faced off each other in the main event of Bellator 228. The two fighters had fought each other previously where Gegard Mousasi had been the one taking a loss.

However, this time when Machida met him, it was in Bellator, Gegard Mousasi's home ground.

The two went to battle in a very methodical fight of three rounds. The first shot was landed by Mousasi who sent his opponent back-pedaling back. However, the pace was slow for most of the fight with neither fighter really getting any offense in, and on the flip side, not allowing their opponent to land much offense either.

Mousasi was able to finally takedown Machida in the third round of their fight after continuously testing each other. Mousasi worked on him from a mount position, but Machida locked in a Guillotine choke that he cranked on.

Fortunately for Mousasi, although he looked close to submitting the fight came to an end when the bell sounded.

Gegard Mousasi defeated Lyoto Machida via Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27)
