When Dana White slammed the referee's grave error in Paul Craig vs. Jamahal Hill fight - "Arizona Mazzagatti"

Referee Steve Mazzagatti has been widely criticized in the MMA community for late stoppages and questionable decisions. UFC CEO Dana White, a vocal critic of Mazzagatti, compared referee Al Guinee with him after Guinee's performance in the fight between Paul Craig and Jamahal Hill.

In that bout, Craig caught Hill in an armbar and transitioned to a triangle choke, breaking the American's arm in the process. Despite Hill's compromised arm and Craig landing elbows on him from the bottom position, the referee allowed the fight to continue for several seconds before stepping in. His officiating quickly became a major talking point after UFC 263.

White addressed Guinee's performance at the post-fight press conference, stating:

"When the arm is flopping around and going both ways, you should probably stop the fight. Arizona has been good to us. I don't want to sh** on Arizona after they've been so good to us. But that's a rough one, yeah! I heard this guy [Al Guinee] is a jiu-jitsu black belt..."

When members of MMA media noted that Guinea made several questionable calls while officiating in local MMA fights, White said:

"So he's Arizona Mazzagatti? Okay, it makes sense then.''
