Early Life and Career
During his early years, Blagoy Ivanov represented Bulgaria in Judo competitions. Ivanov won first place in the 2003 Balkan Junior Championship. He competed in the European Championship in the 2007 U23 Tournament and could only get 7th place.
Instead of representing Bulgaria in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics Games, Ivanov chose to start a career in mixed martial arts.
Blagoy Ivanov won the World Series of Fighting heavyweight championship on June 5, 2015, against Smealinho Rama in Canada. He successfully defended the title four times until he signed for the UFC.

‘Baga’ made his octagon debut on July 14, 2018, at UFC Fight Night: dos Santos vs. Ivanov against Junior dos Santos. Blagoy Ivanov lost the fight via unanimous decision.
