Royval reigned as the LFA flyweight champion after winning the title by defeating Nate Williams at LFA 79 via first-round submission.

Brandon Royval was drawn to combat sports early in his teens. He started training in Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu at the age of 15 and started competing as an amateur mixed martial artist at the age of 18. Royval had a dominant run during his days as an amateur and amassed a clinical record of 5 wins and 0 losses.

After tasting success on the amateur circuit, Brandon Royval made his professional debut on August 17, 2012, at Kick Down MMA 102: Rebels against Sammy Rind. Royval produced a dominant performance in the bout and outclassed Rind by dispatching him in the first round with the help of a flurry of vicious elbows and winning the fight via TKO.

Brandon Royval stormed his way into the UFC against Tim Eliott on May 30, 2022, at UFC on ESPN: Woodley vs. Burns. He clutched Eliott in an arm triangle, forcing him to submit, and registered a second-round submission victory. He contested for the flyweight title against Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 296 in an unsuccessful outing and lost the fight via unanimous decision.
