Breaking: Bellator bantamweight Grand Prix finals set to headline double-header in Hawaii

Bellator made an exciting announcement as the bantamweight Grand Prix finals are set to headline Bellator 295, which takes place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, April 22. The Grand Prix final will headline the second of the back-to-back events at the venue on April 21 and April 22.

Interim bantamweight champion Raufeon Stots and former title challenger Patchy Mix will compete for the Grand Prix championship and the $1 million grand prize. The winner is also expected to challenge reigning bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis in a title unification bout after he was unable to participate in the Grand Prix due to an injury.

'Supa' earned his spot in the finals after defeating Juan Archuleta to win the interim bantamweight championship. He then retained the title in the semi-final after earning a split decision win over Danny Sabatello.

Mix, on the other hand, defeated former Bellator and Rizin bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi via unanimous decision in the opening round. 'No Love' followed that up with an impressive submission win over Magomed Magomedov.

The promotion will also showcase Hawaiian fighters at the event. Most notably, former women's flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will take on No.2 ranked women's flyweight Kana Watanabe in the co-main event. There's a lot at stake as the winner could earn a women's flyweight title shot.

Women's flyweight championship bout set to headline Bellator 294

The bantamweight Grand Prix championship won't be the only one up for grabs as reigning women's flyweight champion Liz Carmouche is set to defend her title against DeAnna Bennett at Bellator 294 in the first of back-to-back events at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena.

The women's flyweight clash will be a rematch of their 2020 encounter, which saw 'Girl-Rilla' earn the win after submitting Bennett with a rear-naked choke at 3:17 of the third round. Since then, the No.4 women's flyweight is riding a three-fight winning streak that includes a win over Alejandra Lara and back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Justine Kish.

The event will also feature a heavyweight bout between Tim Johnson and Said Sowma, and a women's featherweight bout Arlene Blencowe and Sara McMann, who will be making her promotional debut.
