Ortega has since then kept producing impressive performances inside the octagon, which earned him a featherweight title shot twice in his career. He locked horns with Max Holloway for the featherweight title at UFC 231 for the first time. Holloway defeated him via fourth-round TKO (doctor’s stoppage). He again competed for the title against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 266 but came up short and lost via unanimous decision. Ortega now holds a record of 16 wins, 3 losses, and 1 no-contest.
