Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has reflected on his WWE match with Brock Lesnar in 2019, labeling their time spent together as both interesting and "uncomfortable."
Lesnar and Velasquez's rivalry dates back to their time in the UFC. In 2010, Lesnar was the champion and on a four-fight win streak, whereas Velasquez was 8-0 and coming off the back of a KO of the night against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The pair headlined UFC 121 that saw Velasquez crowned the new champion after a first-round TKO against his rival.
Fast-forward to 2019, Vince McMahon and the WWE tried to reignite the pair's rivalry when they signed Cain Velasquez to a deal after his retirement from MMA. The pair faced off at WWE's Crown Jewel and put on a highly MMA focused bout. Lesnar picked up the victory but the match was criticized for being a strange affair.

In a recent interview with BJPenn.com, Velasquez looked back on his WWE run. According to the 40-year-old, the time spent with 'The Beast Incarnate' was different to any of his other wrestling experiences:
“Yeah, professional and I would say it was a little uncomfortable [planning out the match with Brock Lesnar]... Working with Brock was interesting man, that’s all I’m gonna say... It was very different. You kind of just learn from your life and okay, this is what this was. I know for next time if something else ever happens for next time but… With Brock, that’s kind of what it was and again."
Cain Velasquez details his time on the inside of his jail cell
Cain Velasquez recently opened up about his time spent incarcerated after he was released on $1 million bail earlier this year.
The 40-year-old spent over 250 days behind bars for allegedly shooting at Harry Goularte whilst he was inside his vehicle. According to Velasquez, Goularte is alleged to have molested his four-year-old son. The former UFC champion is now awaiting trial following the shooting.
During a recent appearance on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Cain Velasquez discussed his time inside. He was thankful to be finally granted bail as he struggled with the loneliness:
"They had me in protective custody. It was very low-key. Only a few people that I was able to kind of hang out with. I guess the good thing about it is you’ve got a lot of alone time with yourself, and the bad thing about it was you’ve got a lot of alone time with yourself."
