Chael Sonnen revealed that it is very difficult for fighters to play the role of the heel in the UFC and explained why many of avoid committing to it.
Sonnen uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, where he explained that why fighters tend to steer away from being villains and being heckled like those in the professional wrestling industry. He mentioned that being disliked and booed is a major factor in the decision as to why fighters try to be liked.
He said:
"You wanna know why you don't have any heels in the business? You don't have any heels because they can't take the boos. It's the same problem that every heel from the beginning of time has had. They can't take the boos. Takes courage. It takes discipline." [0:00 - 0:18]

The former UFC middleweight title challenger then commended Colby Covington for committing to playing the heel and getting fans invested in his fights. He mentioned that he willingly puts up with the hate that comes with being a great heel, saying:
"You think it's an easy walk the one that Colby Covington goes down by example? What he is willing to put up with 24/7 365 [days a year] to entertain you three times a year...It's tough and there's a reason you don't have a lot of bad guys in sport, they can't take the boos." [0:20 - 0:41]
Sonnen raised a valid point, but as seen even with himself in the past, the heels have eventually been cheered once fans became more aware of the act.

Chael Sonnen upset about Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier possibly burying the hatchet
Chael Sonnen weighed in on Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier possibly burying the hatchet after 'Bones' stated that he wouldn't be upset if 'DC' is working on commentary at UFC 285.
In a video on his YouTube channel, 'The American Gangster' mentioned that he feels that the former light heavyweight champions still dislike each other and that they weren't sincere, saying:
"What bothers me is why? There's obvously no sincerity there. Neither of them...nothing is changed between these two. One guy knocked another man out by kicking him in the head while he was juiced up on steroids like you're not gonna get over that one day." [6:28 - 6:45]
It will be interesting to see whether Cormier will interview Jones at some point prior to the fight or in the octagon should 'Bones' become a two-division champion at UFC 285.
