Chatri Sityodtong is refraining from calling the Stamp Fairtex vs. Supergirl superfight “controversial” since he believed it to be a very close fight.
ONE CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong has never shied away from speaking his mind if he ever thought the judges made the wrong call. He did so when Christian Lee lost to Ok Rae Yoon in their first world title match, and he also spoke out when Supergirl was given the win after clearly being dominated by Ekaterina Vandaryeva in their last atomweight bout.
With that said, Sityodtong would’ve been the first to raise the alarm if he suspected anything but a fair and just decision. Regardless of the general consensus, when it came to Stamp and 'Supergirl,' Sityodtong revealed he would’ve been happy if either woman had won.
Speaking to SCMP MMA, Chatri Sityodtong explained:

“Well I would say that it was a super close fight and if they'd given it to Supergirl I wouldn’t have said anything. Neither here or there. I did think at the very end, actually my brother was watching the fight from the U.S. and he was like ‘Hey bro, I think Supergirl edged it’ I said ‘No, I think,’ this was before the judges came out with their thing and he was texting me, he’s obviously a big fan. And I texted him ‘No, I think Stamp edged it out because that last round’.
Giving credit where it's due, both women delivered an epic three-round battle even after taking the match on short notice. Originally, Stamp was booked to fight kickboxing sensation Anissa Meksen in a highly anticipated special rules bout to jumpstart the year.
Jaroonsak, likewise, was expected to re-run her last match against Russian striker Ekaterina Vandaryeva for the postliminary rounds.
Nevertheless, the Thai superstars showed up and put on an entertaining performance for the fans that was too close to differentiate who the clear winner was.
Stamp Fairtex sends a warning message to Anissa Meksen
After months of intense buildup between the two fighters, Stamp Fairtex was clearly disappointed when her rival Anissa Meksen didn’t show up for the weigh-ins.
After much speculation about her absence, Anissa Mekesen explained on her Instagram that it wasn’t due to her health or weight problems but because she had a family emergency.
Fairtex, however, doesn’t believe her story. After picking up her second win in kickboxing, the Fairtex Gym representative sent the following video message to Meksen:
“Anissa, I’m waiting for you. Don’t run away again.”
Both women are still expected to settle their differences again for the ONE interim atomweight kickboxing belt sometime in March. However, after the last event, fans aren’t sure if it’s going to happen.
