Chatri Sityodtong breaks down Stamp Fairtex vs Supergirl

ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong agrees with the pair of judges who granted Stamp Fairtex a decision win over Anna 'Supergirl' Jaroonsak at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.

Originally, Fairtex was scheduled to face Anissa Meksen in a custom rules bout, but the latter withdrew on short notice. Matchmakers then pinned 'Supergirl' up against Stamp in a kickboxing match that turned out to be a barnburner.

While some fans had 'Supergirl' eking out the decision, Chatri Sityodtong believes Stamp did enough to get her hand raised. He told SCMP MMA:

"There’s just cleaner shots by Stamp, fewer but cleaner shots overall. So the percentage, again I’d love to see the Compustat numbers, but I think I would say you know Stamp’s accuracy percentage on significant strikes were much higher than Supergirl."

The CEO added:

"So I thought, again if you notice every time Supergirl came in, Stamp tucked her chin in down and went for, you know, the counter. Textbook like she just clammed down and threw a leg kick and a left hook. She never allowed herself to get rocked, so I think that was a big factor."

Sityodtong concluded, saying:

"Whereas Supergirl got rocked a few times, I don’t remember the second and third round. I believe she got rocked a few times."

Chatri Sityodtong claims explosiveness led to Chingiz Allazov's recent win over Superbon

Chingiz Allazov put on a dominant performance at ONE Fight Night 6, knocking out Superbon in the second round to secure the featherweight kickboxing world title. In the aftermath of the event, Chatri Sityodtong provided his in-depth analysis while chatting with SCMP MMA.

He asserted:

“You know, obviously hindsight is 20-20. Going into it, I knew that Chingiz [Allazov] was the faster and more explosive fighter. But I assumed that, you know, Superbon has a very high ring IQ -- very intelligent, in terms of setting up game plans, finding his opponents’ tendencies, and counter attacking off those tendencies.”

Chatri Sityodtong continued, stating:

“But after the first minute or two, I was like this guy Chingiz is too fast and even his counter attacks. If Superbon went first he was there already answering pop, pop, pop, two or three.”

Prior to running into Allazov, Superbon hadn't lost a pro match in a dozen appearances, including three straight victories inside the circle. The newly-crowned champ truly surprised fans around the world with his win.
