If kickboxing superstar Superbon Singha Mawynn has holes in his game, Chingiz Allazov clearly found and exploited them.

Allazov shocked the world with his brutal second-round knockout of Superbon in their ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video main event on January 13. With the victory, Allazov captured the ONE featherweight kickboxing world championship and assumed the role as the No. 1 pound-for-pound kickboxer in the world.

Speaking with the South China Morning Post shortly after capturing his first ONE world title, Allazov detailed his game plan going into the bout and the holes in Superbon’s game that ultimately led to his downfall:

“I said before, I focused more on the process. I go to fight, I go to war, I go to win. We had a good game plan. We saw many mistakes of Superbon. He is the best pound-for-pound [kickboxer] in the world, really. But all fighters have mistakes. He made these mistakes enough every day that we saw this and [we knew we had him] in the second round.”

Though the two fighters took some verbal jabs at one another in the lead-up to their epic encounter, Chingiz Allazov made it clear that he has nothing but respect for Superbon and wishes him only the best:

“I have respect for Superbon. I wish him a speedy recovery. I wish him the best of the best of life, for him, for his family, and for his team.”

Chingiz Allazov shows appreciation to Tiger Muay Thai following his win over Superbon at ONE Fight Night 6

In order to prepare for the biggest kickboxing bout of his combat sports career, Chingiz Allazov practically uprooted himself and moved to Thailand.

In the end, the sacrifice was worth it as Allazov delivered the biggest performance of his career, capturing ONE Championship gold in the process. In his interview with SCMP MMA, Allazov expressed appreciation for Tiger Muay Thai and Phuket Fight Club:

"Yes, I say thank you very much Tiger Muay Thai. They supported me and my team. But I train all the time with my coach, Andrei Gridin. Tiger Muay Thai gave me the place and Phuket Fight Club. I love the Thai atmosphere."

Allazov added:

“The boss at Tiger Muay Thai said that if I win the belt, he will put a big picture [of me] in Tiger Muay Thai. He stayed in the arena, and I saw him. So we will see if he puts my picture with the belt."
