Chris Gutierrez faced Dawond Pickney at Ring Rulers: Spa City Stomp Out Hunger on May 15, 2013, in a bantamweight bout in his professional debut. He won via a third-round TKO and launched himself on the professional circuit with a win. He spent his initial years fighting in multiple fight promotions and eventually made his promotional debut in the UFC in 2018 by taking on Raoni Barcelos in a losing cause.
